Mark Bains began his career at the Wordsworth Trust in the Lake District in 1994. He went on to arts fundraising positions in Keswick and Liverpool before returning to the Wordsworth Trust to help set up its development office in 2001. Since then, Mark has led numerous fundraising campaigns, most recently for the £6.2m capital project ‘Reimagining Wordsworth’, which is now being completed to mark the 250th anniversary of William Wordsworth’s birth. When not at work, Mark volunteers with a local emergency care charity. He spends his spare time lamenting his lack of spare time.
