Laurie Boult

Fundraising Director at Age UK

Laurie is Fundraising Director at Age UK where she leads a large team of national fundraisers, and works with a network of over 130 local Age UKs and 3 nation partners; all working to ensure that every older person has somewhere to turn.  She also volunteers as Chair of the Convention Board, and as a coach and mentor.

Laurie has been a professional fundraiser for almost 20 years, with previous senior leadership roles at Breakthrough Breast Cancer, Whizz-Kidz and Ovarian Cancer Action. She was also a founding Trustee of The Running Charity.   Laurie joined the sector due to her passion for bringing brands and charities together and has negotiated many multi-million pound deals with dozens of household names including M&S, John Lewis and The Co-operative.  She specialises in large-scale public fundraising campaigns and leads Age UK’s award winning No one should have no one campaign.

Laurie is also a qualified running leader and she volunteers weekly in north London, working with a running club and a local charity to help others get from couch to 5K and beyond.  Hailing from Teeside, her all time favourite fundraiser is the Great North Run, which she has completed 11 times.

Why am I involved in Fundraising Convetion?

Well for one, I get to Chair a really passionate and diverse team of experts, leaders and emerging leaders in the fundraising field, from who I learn a lot.  I’m also deeply proud of everything that Convention represents and showcases; every fundraiser should go at least once, and so should fundraising directors!
